If MCA cannot validate the database at startup, this window will be displayed in lieu of the Home Page. You may also access this window at any time and perform a validation.
If any of the tests fail then you will be offered suggestions on how to fix the error. Normally, you will need to make a backup of your current database file and then restore a previous working copy. Both of these functions are done via the MCA program.
It may also be that the backup or database directories are not accessible at the present moment due to a problem not related to MyCourts (a partial system crash, the network is down, the files have been moved to another location etc). It may be appropriate to do a reboot of the computer before restoring an older copy of the database and face possible loss of recent work.
In any event, do a backup of the database and programs before doing anything else.

The Information Panel explains the concepts and usage of the Validation process.

 Backup Path
If you perform a database validation and all the tests pass except the actual existence of the database path this button will be displayed.
You will need to click the button and select a new directory (or locate your old directory) from the Windows Directory Picker. The location of the backup directory will then be saved to the database.
Click the Test Button again and this button should disappear.
